Bully Girl: Isabel Ungar and KOA

Where are you from, and what is your nationality?
My name is Isabel Ungar, along with my dog KOA. I’m Canadian, and I’m from Toronto.

Tell our readers about your dog Koa.
Koa is the best dog ever, but I’m biased. He has the best temperament, sweetest personality, is so loving, playful, and snuggly all the time! I could not have asked for a better dog.

What type of diet and exercise regimen do you keen Koa on?
Koa goes for walks with me every day for about an hour. I also take him to the dog park most days or organize play dates for him to get his energy out. I currently feed him Fromm large breed kibble which seems to be working the best for him right now.

Do you travel to any of the Bully Breed dog shows?
I have not had the chance to travel to any Bully Breed dog shows yet but would love to In the near future!

How often do you hit the gym?
I’m in the gym 5-6 days per week.

What was your inspiration to begin with weight training?
I have a strong personality and mindset and needed a physical outlet to match it. I also just wanted to be able to lift really heavy things.

What kind of diet do you follow?
I don’t follow any diet anymore. I struggled with bulimia for about 12 years and am finally in recovery. So I eat generally healthy food, but I also have dessert or pizza and burgers multiple times a week, because life is too short!

Who is your favorite professional athlete, and why?
I love Khabib Nurmagomedov. I’m a big MMA fan and he is one of the best grapplers I have ever seen. Serena Williams is also an amazing female role mode. Who doesn’t love her?

What other hobbies do you have, besides weight training?
I love photography, yoga, gardening, hiking, traveling! Anything creative and/or outdoors.

If you could pick the location of your next shoot with Bully Girl, where would the next photo shoot be, and why?
A dream photoshoot location would be somewhere in the mountains of Hawaii, Utah, Oregon, Nevada etc, you get the point. Something outdoorsy and exciting that would capture the nature and adventure of myself and Koa’s life.

Tell our fans something about yourself, that not too many people know about you.
I don’t really consider myself a fitness person / athlete, despite what my Instagram portrays. I work in a variety of creative industries and have an architecture degree.

What are your goals for the future?
I’d love to start a brand of dog products, apparel, accessories, geared towards bully breeds in particular!

What advice do you have for any up and coming women in the fitness industry?
Just start. Make the Instagram. Personal train. Build a client base. Do it because you love it and people will love you.

What motto do you live by?
You only live once. Cliché I know, but so accurate.
