Who is Elite Bully Kennels?
Tell our readers a little bit about yourself.
My name is Tim Levi, and this is my beautiful wife Fonda Levi. We represent Elite Bully Kennels. You can find us in New Port Richey Florida.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
We specialize in pocket and standard American Bullies. Like many others we started out with American Pit Bull Terriers. However, once we were introduced to the American Bully by a good friend of ours, we immediately fell in love. We were inspired by their overall appearance, temperament, and loyalty. We knew right away that this was the breed for us.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
We currently have all of our adult dogs on a high quality, grain free kibble with a 30/20 protein to fat ratio. We also include daily vitamins and rotate between coconut oil and wild alaskan salmon oil throughout the year for their skin and coats. All of our pups are given Taste of the Wild High Prairie Puppy Formula three times daily. We leave the rest to genetics.
What is your favorite bloodline?
There are so many bloodlines that bring good qualities to the table. We are currently working towards our own vision. Our vision is to have a clean, functional bully. This bully would have a lot of muscle mass, big bone, large head and a short compact frame. Without going over the edge, of course. So be sure to be on the lookout for the new Elite Line coming soon.
Do you currently show, any of your dogs?
Yes we do. Our stud El Chapo, who is off of Grand Champion RedRum, took 1st & 2nd place BBCR ribbons home this year. We are looking forward to introducing him and a couple of our productions to the ABKC in 2018.
What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?
This isn’t a get rich quick type of business. You have to be willing to invest time, effort, and money into your program if you want to be successful.
What do you think, is the most difficult thing for people in the bullygame to overcome?
Individuals and animal rights groups that try to bring negativity about the breed, due to their own ignorance.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
We believe that education is the key to the acceptance of the breed, and responsible breeders. Negative perceptions can be overcome by being the voice for the breed. We try to do exactly what you guys do at Bully Girl magazine. That is to offer educational and informational outlets through websites, magazines and social media. We want to showcase both the breed and responsible breeders in a positive light.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
There are quite a few people that we respect in the bully game. We appreciate the way that they have conducted business, and how they represent the bully community. We have met a lot of friends along the way, and we are looking forward to meeting many more.
Tell us about one of Elite Bully Kennels most memorable moments, in 2017 so far.
Our most memorable moment of 2017 would have to include our road trip to Georgia. We competed in a BBCR show and took home 1st and 2nd place ribbons.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully Community, to be 10 years from now.
As cliche as it might sound, we would really like to see the bully community come together as a whole. Everyone needs to focus less on the money, greed, and envy. What really matters is breeding quality dogs, that are going to bring happiness to other families for many years to come.
What separates Elite Bully Kennels from the competition?
At Elite Bully Kennels we pride ourselves on professionalism and legitimacy. We are licenced and regulated by the state of Florida. We strive to treat all of our customers with the respect, courtesy, and professionalism. They deserve it when making such a significant investment into their lifestyle.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
We are very much into physical fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. We are also very family oriented, and we love doing family activities. My wife is very much involved with our children’s schools. She is the school treasurer and she is on the board of the PTO.
What motto do you live by?
Raise Your Standards!
