State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Hakim Brimah, of Animalville Breeders, with headquarters in Chicago, Michigan, Houston, Nevada, and South Carolina.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
Animalville Breeders breeds American Bully’s. I was inspired by the physical appearance and personality of these dogs when I saw my first Bully in 2005.
In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
I think transperancy, being professional, and breeding with ethics are strong characteristics of responsible breeders.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
We feed our dogs kibble and raw, along with Origins 5 in 1 supplements.
What is your favorite bloodline?
Razors edge is my favorite bloodline. Their look attracted me to the breed. However, I feel like Daxline took the breed to the next level. The combination of both bloodlines has been perfect for us.
Do you currently show, any of your dogs?
Not currently. We have some young up and comers looking to make their show run in 2019.
What advice does Animalville Breeders have for any upcoming breeders?
Do your research and use common sense. Understand that this breed is still developing, and we all still have a lot to learn.
What do you think, is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
Taking things personal, and letting ego’s get in the way of common sense.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
You have to understand that nothing in life is perfect. Our community and breed is still growing.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
Alton banks, one of my partners who introduced me to the breed.
Cortez haron, one of my partners who helped me start the build of Animalville.
Abel Terrazas, one of my partners who taught me true business ethics.
Hayward, Geraldo, and Brandon, my other partners for their trust.
Tell us about one of Animalville Breeders main goals for the year 2019.
We have established our brand and consistency in producing quality American Bully’s. In 2019, we have a lot of young Animalville produced dogs that we will be breeding together, to tighten our brand and the look of an Animalville American Bully.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
Would love to see only 2 classes, Pocket and Standard. Pockets should only be breeding to pockets, and standards should only be breeding to standards.
What separates Animalville Breeders from the competition?
What separates Animalville Breeders is transperancy, professionalism, and we don’t follow the trends. We create our own.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
Not much. It’s all about family, work, and the dogs.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I love what Bully Girl Magazine is doing for the community. Bully Girl is a great outlet which helps us all reach the general public, especially those who aren’t familiar with the American Bully. I personally think we as a community have only reached 25% of the general public that isn’t familiar with the American Bully.
