State your name, and where your kennel is located.
Our names are Mario and Andrea with Blue Buddha Frenchies, our breeding program is located in Central Ohio.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
We breed French Bulldogs Blues, as well as Blue and Tans. We have always been drawn to bully breeds of all shapes and sizes. We started breeding English Bulldogs, and then moved our program over to Frenchies. They have stolen our hearts!
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
We have consistently used Orijen puppy grain free food due to potential allergies, and our adults eat Orijen Six fish with occasional treats of course.
What is your favorite bloodline?
Our Blue Buddha bloodline, which we have created that represents good health, quality lineage, and amazing temperament.
Do you currently show, any of your dogs?
We attend many shows, and we are looking to step in the ring soon.
What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?
Make sure you breed for the right reasons. “Better the Breed”! Do your homework and just when you think you’ve read enough, read some more.
What do you think, is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
Being able to take criticism constructively and make it a learning experience, not a negative outcome.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
Again this reverts back to knowledge. Never stop learning, and be willing to share this knowledge with others to better them, because karma is real.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
We look up too many people in the bully game and what has got them to the level that they are through honesty, building strong lines, and foundation. No names in particular, there are too many that would fall under this category.
Tell us about one of your most memorable moments, in 2016 so far.
Our Buddha and Zenya’s litter of solid Blues. Quality, confirmation, and structure was outstanding with this litter. They did an amazing job. We are so proud of them.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully Commuity, to be 10 years from now.
We would like to see quality breeders working together to make this breed even more healthy and beautiful than they already are.
What separates your kennel from the competition?
We have six children that are a huge part of our program. Their interaction alone, is what separates us from competitors. All of our puppies and dogs are handled by us and our children from the day they are born, until the day they go to their new forever homes. Not only do the puppies love this, but it also teaches our children great responsibility. We do not consider ourselves technically a kennel, we do not have any runs. All of our dogs are part of our family, and live indoors with us.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
Hiking, traveling, riding motorcycles, working out, and of course family time.
What motto do you live by?
Live life with an open mind.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
Bully Girl Magazine is top notch, and they have quality photos.
