Who is Cali-Vision Kennels?
State your name, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Sierra Gill, founder of Cali-Vision Kennels. You can find us in Yuba city, California.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
I breed exotic American bullies. My daughter inspired me to get involved with this breed. She always wanted to get a bully. So after doing lots of research, my husband and I decided to invest, and create our own vision in the bully world.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
I keep my dogs on a high protein diet. I feed raw meats and vegetables. In addition to that, I alternate between Liquid Gold and Puppy Gold on their dry food. This helps to maintain a healthy weight and shiny coat all year long.
What is your favorite bloodline?
There are so many great bloodlines out there. However, if I had to choose one, it would be Phenom blood. Most of my dogs have Phenom blood in them. In my opinion it is a very adaptable blood that produces consistent, colorful, and well rounded muscular dogs.
Do you currently show, any of your dogs?
I do not currently show my dogs, but I plan to in the future.
What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?
My advice for upcoming breeders would be to figure out what your vision is. Then do lots of research before you invest. You want to understand how different bloods react together.
What do you think, is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
I think the most difficult thing to overcome is the negativity between breeders.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
I think it can be overcome by not focusing so much on what other breeders are doing in their yard. Just stay focused on what your vision is.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
I look up to Jorge Luis Soto. He has turned himself into more than just a breeder. Jorge has created a corporation, and turned bullies into a lifestyle.
Tell us about one of Cali-Vision Kennels main goals going into the year 2018.
My main goal for 2018 would be to better my kennel. I would like to continue to expand my outreach with other kennels and create beautiful bullies.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully Community, to be 10 years from now.
Ten years from now I would like to see the bully community become more united. I’d like to see the bully breed become more common in everyday households. I would also like to see more shows, events, and meetups.
What separates Cali-Vision Kennels from the competition?
In my opinion, what separates my kennel from others, is that all of my dogs are colorful micros with big dog features and nice structure. With that said, they are still able to run, jump, and play just like big dogs.
In your own words, what is an Exotic Bully?
To me an exotic bully is a dog that does not fit the normal standard.
What is your opinion on the new exotic breed movement?
I think the moment is progressing in an amazing way, and I am excited to be a part of it.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
I am a mother of two and a wife. So my hobbies outside of breeding are lots of family time and activities. We also enjoy going to the bully shows together.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I think Bully Girl Magazine is great! They have an amazing outreach and are doing big things by helping better inform people on the bully breed. This helps to ensure that they are not banned or stereotyped. They also do a great job of keeping the bully community updated on upcoming events and shows.
