State your name, and where your kennel is located.
I am Veronique Pluim, of Excellent Bully’s, located in the Netherlands.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
I breed the American Bully Pocket. My first bully i got only 2.5 years ago. We were looking for a companion for our Dogue de Bordeaux, we went to a dogshow where the breeder of our first bully was. He had a couple of pups with him and I was instantly in love with our Ace. This dog, this breed had everything that wanted from a dog. This breed looks tough but is the sweetest breed you will ever meet. They do no possess any agression. They will do anything to please you. So when we could get a american bully female, we didnt have to think twice. From then on it went fast, and we now have 9 American Bullys.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
The main diet is fresh meat. Also, they are getting normal dog food twice a week.
What is your favorite bloodline?
My favorite bloodline would be Daxline, but I have to say that I also love Muscletone blood.
Do you currently show, any of your dogs?
I show currently with 2 of my females,
Miracle: a micro bully, and her mother Jwoww: a pocket bully.
What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?
Keep following your own path, and your own vision for this breed. Dont let yourself get tempted to go with a hype. Imagine how you think a bully should look like, and try to accomplish that. Make sure your are bettering the breed. It is hard work, so dont think you will make easy money.
What do you think, is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
Like I said in the beginning, you need to follow your own vision. The bully is constantly changing, but it isn’t always for the better.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
Just stick to your own plan.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
I look up to Muscletone Bullys, because they are breeding dogs that, to me, are the ultimate American Bully.
Tell us about one of your most memorable moments, in 2016 so far.
For me this year couldn’t end better. I just got 11 puppys from my beautiful girl Byou, and I have to say, I also won with Jwoww. She received best female pocket in the ABKC show in Italy.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully Commuity, to be 10 years from now.
I would love to see that our beloved breed, the American Bully, will be much healthier but will stay Bully. I would like to see people in the bully game work together more and award each other.
What separates your kennel from the competition?
For me this is not a competition. I am in this thing because I love the breed, and I want to make this breed better. My dogs are my companions. They are all living in our house as pets.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
A couple of months ago you could find me in the gym 4 times a week. I have been a little busy but will defenitly start back again in 2017.
What motto do you live by?
Live your dreams.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I love the interviews and pictures on your page. Keep them coming.
