State your name, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Ronnie Wright. Our kennel, Famous Owned Bullies, is located in San Diego California.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
I started breeding American Bullies in 2008. I then transitioned over to French bulldogs and English bulldogs in 2010, and have been doing all 3 breeds since. I loved the big bullies so that’s what got me hooked into breeding and showing. A couple of years went by and I began to notice the frenchies at the shows, and they got my interest. So I went and bought my first frenchie, and the rest is history.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
I feed by dogs raw, and a grain free kibble called “Orijen”.
What is your favorite bloodline?
Definitely Razors Edge. It’s what got me started back in the day.
Do you currently show, any of your dogs?
I still show my Frenchies, English bulldogs, and Pocket bullies 2 or 3 times a year.
What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?
Start off doing it as a hobby, and have fun, not because you think it’s an easy buck.
What do you think, is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
Not having everything go as they planned.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
Plan for the worst, so that you’re prepared for anything.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
Not a specific someone, but anybody that’s been doing this for a long time and puts their heart and soul into their dogs and their camp, and those who are not all about the money.
Tell us about one of Famous Owned Bullies most memorable moments, in 2017 so far.
This year has been incredible, but my most memorable moment was definitely delivering Jamie Foxx’s puppy, and going to the movie set with Jeremy Piven and Jamie Foxx was unforgettable.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully Community, to be 10 years from now.
Well organized, with only two or three registries, and a better turn out at the shows.
What separates Famous Owned Bullies from the competition?
Definitely the structure and colors of our dogs separate us from the rest, along with the best temperament and most healthy frenchies in the world. Our puppies have gone to a ton of celebrities, models, and athletes. That always helps.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
Snow boarding, dirt bikes, bass fishing, and anything I can get a thrill out of.
What motto do you live by?
Work hard, play harder!
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I think Bully Girl Magazine is great, and we love to see it grow. It’s one of our daily magazines to read!
