State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Gregory Crouch, and my kennel partner is Ren White. We are the founders of Tungsten Bullies, located in Atlanta, GA.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
We breed the XL American Bully. We have been in love with the bully breed since it was considered an American Pit Bull Terrier. The look and size brought me over to the XL side of it. To me, they are more function than the standard American Bully’s.
In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
A responsible breeder is someone who cares for and respects the breed. Responsible breeders take time out to study and research the good and bad genetics in their breed of choice.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
During the winter months, I do a mixture of raw and kibble, but mostly kibble. During the summer I go strictly kibble in small amounts to keep our dog’s weight down.
What is your favorite bloodline?
My favorite bloodlines are the original Gotti and Mugleston lines.
Do you currently show any of your dogs?
We do not currently show any of our dogs at the moment.
What advice does Tungsten Bullies have for any upcoming breeders?
The best advice I can give is to research the bloodline that you are currently using. Plan each breeding, and strive to create something better each time.
What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
The most difficult thing to me, is trying to breed out the faults in your dog.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
Use selective breeding. Breed to create something you will be proud of. Don’t just breed to a stud because he is popular at that time.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
Eddie, of Extreme Bullies was a great breeder who created consistent monsters.
Tell us about one of Tungsten Bullies main goals for the year 2019.
Currently I’m working on my third generation, and planning my 4th generation out. We are trying to tie it all in.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
I would love to see more consistency in this breed. Ten years ago, you could look at a dog and know exactly what bloodline he was from.
What separates Tungsten Bullies from the competition?
At Tungsten Bullies, we breed to create dogs with a wide chest, plenty of substance, and depth. We are also adding muscle to give them an overall look. The goal is a complete XL American Bully.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
Photography and computers are my life. My kennel partner Ren is really into fixing up houses.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
Bully Girl Magazine is a great publication that shows a much needed look inside that this bully game is all about.
