State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Kimmie Brown. My husband Josh Brown and I are the founders of Coastal Empire Bullies, located in South east Coastal Georgia.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
We breed structurally correct, show quality XL American Bullies. We were inspired to breed them in particular because we wanted to help kill the negative stigma around this breed. Our goal is to prove these dogs are just as capable, if not more capable of being a loyal, loving best friend.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
Typically we feed our dogs a RAW diet. However, we do feed kibble sometimes as well.
What is your favorite bloodline?
My favorite bloodline, aside from our own, would have to be BBH!
Do you currently show, any of your dogs?
Currently, we show 2 of our foundation dogs, Pablo Escobar and Lyrica Beats.
What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?
I have a few bits of advice for upcoming breeders. Never sell yourself short. Picture your goal, and then kill it. Always focus on quality over quantity. Most of all, stay humble.
What do you think, is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
I think the most difficult thing in the bully game to overcome is the fact that there are enough dogs and money to go around. I’ve noticed a lot of hostility between some kennels, and it just shouldn’t be like that. Our goal as a whole should be the betterment of the breed.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
I think everyone could overcome that obstacle by just staying humble!
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
The people I look up to in the bully game would be Imperial Bloodline Bullies. Gabby, and her husband Danny are two of the most genuine, humble people I have come across in a long time. I’m thankful to have met them for sure.
Tell us about one of Coastal Empire Bullies main goals going into the year 2018.
One of our main goals coming into 2018 was to maintain clean and correct XL bullies. So far so good!
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
Ten years from now, I would love to see the stigma on bullies, especially XL bullies, was completely dismissed. I would love it if there was an abundance of knowledge in our community, instead of so much judgement.
What separates Coastal Empire Bullies from the competition?
What competition? (haha) I believe our kennel and our dogs speak for themselves. We produce all around clean and correct XL bullies without messed up genetics, health problems, or mishaps. We are one of a kind, and our foundation shows that.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
We don’t have many other hobbies. I guess just being amazing parents to our 5 children is what we love to do, and strive for! We’re beach bums too, so anything involving the ocean we are there!
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
We love Bully Girl Mag! I think it’s an amazing way to get genuine information out there, and it’s a great community to be apart of.
