State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Erica Carter (aka Erica Kane), founder of Dynamic Bulldogs. You can find us in St. Louis, Mo.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
Dynamic Bulldogs breeds English and French Bulldogs, as well as Exotic Bully’s.
In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
Time management skills, being a multitasker, passion, and drive to be successful are the best characteristics a responsible breeder can possess.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
I feed my bully’s Nutro Lamb and Rice dry formula. This brand and flavor works well for all of the bully’s I have. Nutro is great for their coats and digestive systems.
What is your favorite bloodline?
My favorite bloodline would have to be Klauz Bloodline produced Jaiy Bradie from Bradie and the Bullies.
Do you currently show, any of your dogs?
No, I haven’t shown any of my dogs recently, but that’s one of my goals for 2019.
What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?
Study the breed. Be willing to be a sponge to soak up as much knowledge and experience possible. Don’t be afraid of your failures, those failed mistakes are what can make you very successful.
Always ask other breeders questions and don’t be intimidated by the veteran breeders. Lastly, no matter how tired and stressful you may get at times, never give up if this is your passion.
What do you think, is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
The most difficult thing to overcome is everyone’s ego. Also, the breeders the saturate the market with under quality and over priced bully’s. Lastly, how breeders behave at dog shows at the table during “Stack Off’s”.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
It’s hard to overcome another persons ego. It’s all about the mindset. So many breeders are in such competition with each other, that they forget about the passion and positive efforts they had at the beginning of their breeding journey.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
I look up to Jaiy Bradie from Bradie and the Bullies, because I remember Jaiy being one of the first people to ever give me valuable information and knowledge on the bully breed itself. Jaiy saw my passion and potential that I had, and basically became a mentor to me. I also admire Posherbulls. I look up to Posherbulls because of their continued consistency. It’s easy to stay relevant in the Bully game, but can you remain consistent in the game?
Tell us about one of your main goals for the year 2019.
This year I want to focus on building the Dynamic Bulldogs brand and social networking presence. I plan to be more active this year with dog shows, whether I enter or just attend a show. During 2018, I focused really hard on my kennel and productions, making sure I had the right colors for my program. With my new goals in place, these steps allow me to continue to grow and not become stagnant.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
In 10 years I hope to see more rare colors recognized, or categorized in registries.
What separates your kennel from the competition?
Dynamic Bulldogs is not in competition with anyone. I love being a bad ass female bully breeder, and the rewards of my labor are astronomically beneficial and fulfilling. I love the fact that I can create a beautiful, top quality Bulldogs that people want and need. That’s what drives to be more successful in this bully game. So I think my energy, focus, and motivation sets me aside from my competitors.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
I love photography. Pictures say a thousand words to me. It’s been a hobby of mine for sometime now. I used to take so many creative pictures of my kids, but now all you see is me taking a million pictures of my dogs.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I think Bully Girl Magazine is amazing. It’s a very entertaining magazine, touching base on relevant and relatable topics. I love the exposure and interviews for other kennels it provides along with the support Bully Girl gives. The Bully Girl Magazine Instagram page is definitely one of my favorite pages. I look forward to seeing more of this magazine for years to come.
