State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Keely Hogg, of Hoggs Bulldog kennels. You can find us in Sydney, Australia.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
I breed British Bulldogs. I first met a bulldog when my uncle decided to buy a foundation breed miniature Australian bulldog. From there, my passion grew and eventually evolved my love for the British bulldog. I love their personality and great temperament. British Bulldogs make the perfect family pet.
In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
In my opinion, responsible breeders always do right by the dogs and the breed. They always keep health in mind, as an importance to the breeds future. I always think of my dog’s before I make any important decisions that might affect them in any way.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
My dogs are 100% raised and fed on a raw diet.
What is your favorite bloodline?
My favorite bloodline will have to be Shrinkabulls. The health and structure of their line is amazing.
Does Hoggs Bulldog Kennels currently show any dogs?
Yes, I currently have one show dog named Elara. Elara has only been entered into two shows and has done amazingly in both.
What advice does Hoggs Bulldog Kennels have for any upcoming breeders?
My first advice for new breeders would have to be one I still live by, Network! It is super important to talk and have discussions with other breeders. Don’t be afraid to ask for advice or opinions on different topics. The industry is always changing with better and more advanced ways of doing things.
What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
I think the most difficult thing people in the game need to overcome, is judgement or hate that they may receive.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
Take the hate in stride. Look and listen to what they’re saying, and use the criticism to the best of your advantage.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
I look up to Steph, from Cadillac Bullies Australia. Her dogs are amazing and very well bred. She is always willing to help me with anything.
Tell us about one of Hoggs Bulldog Kennels main goals for the year 2020.
We have a few big things planned for 2020, including a new name change, and another big surprise.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
I would love to see more shows available to enter our dogs in.
What separates Hoggs Bulldog Kennels from the competition?
I feel like my kennels are different from others. I don’t have a lot of dogs, but my dogs are quality bred dogs. Quality over quantity!
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
My partner and I love the outdoors. 4WDING is one of our favorite things to do.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
When I first heard of Bully Girl Mag, I thought it was amazing! I love the fact that Bully Girl Magazine includes all bull breeds, not just the bullies.
