Rebel Head Bullyz

State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Travis Adams, founder of Rebel Head Bullyz. You can find us in Hampton, VA.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
I breed XL American Bullies. I’ve always loved and owned big dogs such as Pit Bulls, which led me to love the XL Bully.

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
A responsible dog breeder has to have a foundation that involves genuine love for the dogs. Everything else comes second.

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
My dogs eat a mixture of kibble and raw meat throughout the year.

What is your favorite bloodline?
I love the old school Razors Edge blood, Mugleston, blueline, and GK. There are too many great ones to name them all. Hats off to all of the forefathers of the breed. At the end of the day, I Just love a well-rounded, functional healthy dog.

Do you currently show any of your dogs?
Rebel Head Bullyz has participated in fun shows. We will be making our official show ring debut in the Fall of 2019, at the Southeast Kennel Club Bully Combine, in Virginia.

What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?
Just enjoy the dogs. Don’t get so caught up in who bred the dog or where the dog came from. A nice dog is a nice dog.

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
I think the thought of bullies being a “get rich quick” scheme is the most difficult thing for people to get over.

How do you think they can overcome this thing?
Don’t expect dogs to keep you from having to get a real job or income. I’m not saying that they can’t make your financial situation better. However, don’t come into the game thinking bullies are going to buy you the mansion you always wanted. It doesn’t always work that way.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
I look up to people like Antonio Mclenney from The Potter’s House, Shenardo Shelton from Filthy Rich Bullies, Frank Robinson, Cadillac Bullies, The Kahler family from Kahler’s 1st Bully Kennels and many more. I’ve never been a big fan of the internet bully world. These are a few of the solid people
that I’ve had real life interactions and experiences with. I can honestly say I’ve learned something from each one of them.

Tell us about one of your main goals for the year 2019.
Bring big dogs back.

Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
I would love to see the bully community growing continuously in the right direction.

What separates your kennel from the competition?
At Rebel Head Bullyz, we breed functional XL American Bullies. We don’t worry about what anyone else is doing.

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
I’m a welder by trade, but I also deal in investment real estate as well.

What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I love what Bully Girl Magazine is doing for the bully breed community. I also appreciate Bully Girl for providing a platform for upcoming Kennels to have a voice. Thank You!
