State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Davy and my kennel is Short Muscle Camp France. You can find us in Lyon, France.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
I breed Pocket and Micro American Bully’s. I like dogs that aren’t too tall. When i was a student, I was living in a small apartment, and wanted a muscular dog with a good character. I later discovered Dax. It was thanks to him that I discovered the bully game and to took a liking particularly to the pockets.

More generally, I appreciate the bully breed, because the blood isn’t fixed. Therefore, we can create exceptional dogs (beauty and character) and develop the breed.

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
According to me, the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder are love and respect. A good breeder should always think about the health of his dogs, and limit the number of litters for a female.

I consider dogs as humans. It’s very important for me to bring love to my dogs. They are always by our side in bad times and make us happy. They are loyal and devoted to us. Bringing them love and time is essential, especially for good socialization of the puppies. It’s also important to give them good living conditions, with space to play.

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
We feed our dogs kibble, and once a month I give them a ration of beef to please them. I think their genetics are sufficient. I am not looking for fatten my dogs with products unfit for their health.

What is your favorite bloodline?
My favorite bloodline is the daxline. For me, this dog has revolutionized the game and produced exceptional dogs on all types of females.

Does Short Muscle Camp France currently show any dogs?
We plan to show our dogs. We are doing a selection in order to be able to create a dog that will be complete for the rings.

What advice does Short Muscle Camp France have for any upcoming breeders?
I think you must never give up your dreams, despite the obstacles and difficulties. It’s important to be honest and respectful towards your dogs and customers. I believe in God and I think that every day he looks at us and helps us to choose the path which is ours, in the bully game and in our life.

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
I think there are many difficulties. The first is losing a dog, because you get attached to them. The second is the dishonesty of some people.

How do you think they can overcome this thing?
It’s important to keep faith and stay positive. The bully game gives birth to exceptional dogs and the ability to meet beautiful people all over the world. I think that alone we go faster, but together we go further.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
When I discovered the American Bully, I was watching Mr. Ed Shepherd’s videos. I was trying to understand the different phases that there were before the creation of dax, and all the experiences he had. Then I had the chance to meet Mike Meza (Short Muscle Camp in the USA) who comforted me in my vision of the bully. On each production, I saw a signature.

Tell us about one of the goals Short Muscle Camp France has for the year 2020.
We would like to finalize many of our breedings. Especially the one with Valentino and Cardi B, produced by Short Muscle Camp. We will continue to select the best dogs for the next generations.

Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
With the coronavirus epidemic, I hope we will still be here in ten years lol. More seriously, I would like the bully to be recognized in the world and not stereotyped as a dangerous dog. Also, I hope that the bully breed continues to evolve, while keeping the characteristics that make the bully an extraordinary dog.

What separates Short Muscle Camp France from the competition?
The competition? I don’t see the bully game as a competition, but rather as a human adventure. Everyone has their own vision and way of working. There is no need to be in competition. The most important thing is to be a responsible breeder.

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
With the dogs, I don’t have much time for other passions. But I really like football and walking in the countryside with my family.

What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I think Bully Girl Magazine is very interesting. I find it enriching to be able to have multimedia and publications concerning the bully game. This allows us to exchange and share our experiences, while discovering other beautiful kennels.
