My name is Ahmad, from IrraplacaBull Frenchies. You can find us in South West Sydney, Australia.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
Until recently, I have always had American Staffy’s and Red Nose Pitties. I was always fascinated with the English bulldog, but fell in love with frenchies once I met a few. I loved their temperament, character, and personality. They also fit in well with my 4 kids.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
I feed them a raw diet which mainly consists of a variety of things. 80% of their diet is a raw protein, (beef, chicken, kangaroo, and crocodile) with some veggies, sardines, oils and kibble. Twice a week I’ll give them a home cooked meal, (chicken, sausages, etc. with rice or pasta) with any left overs we have. They love lasagna.
What is your favorite bloodline?
I wouldn’t say I have a specific favorite bloodline. I tend to lean towards the American and Hungarian lines, when it comes to Frenchies. ShrinkaBulls seems to produce some quality though.
Does IrraplacaBull Frenchies currently show any dogs?
We attend the bully shows and catch up with other breeders, but have never entered a show. I’ve been eager to get Scooby on stage, so who knows, we may be showing in the next one.
What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?
The best advice I can probably give is do your research on the breed of choice. Get an understanding of the breed standard and any genetic diseases that they are prone to. Choosing the breed to suit the climate is important also.
What do you think, is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
Honestly, I believe the most difficult things are overcoming the bad reputation the bully breed has, and poor breeding standards.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
I think it’s important for people who want to purchase a pup to ensure the parents are living in good conditions. Parents and pups should have been DNA tested for genetic diseases. All dogs should be registered with a reputable organization. Regarding the reputation, I think people should get the dogs out to interact with the public. We have nightly meet ups, where anywhere from 6-20 Frenchies run around and interact with each other.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
There’s so many people doing great work all around the world, but I’ll get it close to home here in Australia. I’ve always enjoyed what EmpireKing Bullies has done, and the standard she has set. Platinum Bullies also has some premium pups. Also, just recently Norse Kennels, from Melbourne has brought out some Shorty Bulls, which I’m also falling in love with.
Tell us about one of IrraplacaBull Frenchies main goals for the year 2018.
Our main goal is very similar every year. We want to produce quality, healthy dogs and a moderate price for pet owners. Above all, we want the dogs to live a healthy and loved life.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
I would love to see more bully shows and awareness of all bully breeds. Also, I would like to see this breed grow with endless great traits. They really are family dogs and companions.
What separates IrraplacaBull Frenchies from the competition?
That’s a tough one. I don’t see other kennels as competition. Our dogs are loved as part of our family. Their not cooped up in a dog run for most of their time. Our frenchies have free run of the yard. They can go in and out of the house. We always have meet ups and play dates for them. Irraplacabull Frenchies are very well socialized, and admired by other dog owners.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
My hobbies and interests are anything that involves spending time with my kids, family, and my faith. After that, it’s getting outdoors with the dogs.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
To be honest, I’ve only just recently came across BGM. I love what you are doing to promote the breed. Bully Girl Magazine shows awareness and gives breeders the opportunity to connect with a wider audience of bully breed enthusiasts worldwide. Keep up the great work!
