Kompact Bullies: French Bulldog Breeder | California

Kompact Bullies

State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Jay Caraballo. I’m the owner of Kompact Bullies, LLC. You can find us in beautiful San Diego, CA.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
We breed quality AKC standard, rare, and exotic colored French Bulldogs. What inspired me to get involved with this particular breed is the fact that you can literally take a French Bulldog anywhere. They are small enough to travel without it becoming an issue. They have a tough look, but are loving and playful. Some of the things they do will have you cracking up, seriously.

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
I keep my dogs on a 50/50 diet consisting of raw and dry foods, and lots of exercise.

What is your favorite bloodline?
Oh man, there’s a couple out there that are seriously badass. First off, I’m going to start with Primitive Bullies with that Bongo Blood. The original owner of Bongo and Bongosan. Next, I have to go with the whole Gotfrenchie Family, with Quatrro and Trojan Man blood. Those are older bloodlines, but they are still producing quality.

You got BaylineBullyz with the Grinch line that is fuego! You got Predominant Bullies with Baller, OCK Cali Rick with the Suess line. R.I.P  to Dr. Suess. You got Los Bulldogs with Mr. T and Billionaire blood. Last but not least, you have Kompact Bullies with Notorious blood.

To be honest, it’s really the look you go for that determines what your favorite or not so favorite bloodlines are.  At the end of the day, there are many bloodlines out there that are producing some top notch french bulldogs.

Does Kompact Bullies currently show any dogs?
Yes, we currently show Notorious B.I.G aka Biggie, Mr. Bojangles, Rocky Road, Prince, Pixie, and Hennessy.

What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?
My advice for upcoming breeders is to know what your trying to produce, and stick to it. A lot of this game is monkey see monkey do. The ones that are original and have stayed true to there program are reaching the goals they set when they first got into the game. They have earned their longevity.

Do it for the love not for the money. The money will always come, especially when your producing something that everyone wants. Don’t just breed any two dogs together. Do your research. Then make your decision.

Don’t base it off hype, because there are a lot of dogs with a lot of hype. However, they don’t produce. This is chess not checkers. The master was once a student too! Remember that.

What do you think, is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
The most difficult thing to overcome is understanding that not everyone is your friend. Business is business and friendship has nothing to do with business.

How do you think they can overcome this thing?
Do your research. Know who is really there for you, and willing to help your program grow. Breeders will tell you all types of things in hopes to discourage you and knock you off of your pivot. Come into the game knowing what you’re trying to accomplish and do it. Don’t listen to what anyone says. When they do say something again, do your research. However, at the end of the day, go with your gut feeling.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
I look up to all of my homies that are in this game. We learn from each other. Everyone has something different to bring to the table. They all know who they are because I’m always showing love. They also show love in return.

Tell us about one of Kompact Bullies main goals for the year 2018.
Our main goal for 2018 was to make an impact, and to grow as a family. Kompact Bullies is well known on the west coast, and we are spreading to the east. In 2019 we have some heat coming. We are going to end 2018 with a bang! Wait for these litters we have coming soon. This litter will be game changers.

Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
Ten years from now I would like the bully community to leave egos at the door. Having an ego doesn’t get you anywhere in this game. The goal is to produce the best, not make enemies with the people doing the same thing you’re trying to do. Collaborating with one another is key. Bosses makes more bosses.

What separates Kompact Bullies from the competition?
We are no different then any other kennel out there. All our dogs are house kept, and not in yards or kennels. That’s just our preference. Our customer service is tremendous, and the teams dedication and loyalty is A1. We pride ourselves is producing some of the best French Bulldogs out. Therefore, we are no different. We just do things our way.

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
We live on the beach so i’m a waters man. I fish, boat, jetski, and surf. I just live that beach life. This is California.

What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I think Bully Girl Magazine is a dope magazine. Bully Girl is always bringing light to the bully breeds.
