State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
We are Josie and James Crespo, and we are the Founders of Right Way Bullies. You can find us in Gardnerville, Nevada (about 20 minutes from Tahoe).
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
We breed American bully’s – Exotic and Razors Edge. We love pocket bully dogs with high drive and loving temperaments. What inspired us to get involved with the breed was simply our love for the dogs. We have both always had American Pit Bull Terriers growing up. Recently we got our first Bully. We fell in love with everything about her, such as her looks, temperament, personality, and athleticism. This led us to the breeding game.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
We feed our dogs a high quality grain free kibble. We leave the rest up to exercise and genetics.
What is your favorite bloodline?
Our favorite bloodline would have to be Short Muscle Camp’s Louis V Line Bullies.
Do you currently show, any of your dogs?
Not at this moment, but we do plan on it down the line.
What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?
Our number one advice is to have a vision of your perfect Bully. Plan it out and go for it. Don’t just go along with what’s trending today, and don’t always follow the hype.
What do you think, is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
Everyone has different visions of what a bully should look like, which causes a lot of unwanted opinions and hate. It also causes new breeders to become afraid to breed for what they really want, and instead they start to breed for the hype. They end up producing pups that are completely different from what their initial vision was. That’s where the inconsistency comes into play.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
Focus on you and your yard only. Don’t worry about what others say. Have a vision, be confident, and stick with it.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
Manny Duarte over at Dover Street Bullys. He’s been in the bully game for a long time, and has always been open to answering any questions we might have. He has given us two beautiful dogs that are making great additions to our yard. We appreciate him!
Tell us about one of Right Way Bullies main goals going into the year 2018.
Our main goal for 2018 is to drop at least one healthy successful litter.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
We would like for all sides of the bully community to be accepted and united. We would also like to see everyone keep growing in a positive direction.
What separates Right Way Bullies from the competition?
We are not in the breeding game to compete. We are just here to produce successful, healthy pups and provide them with loving families.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part take in?
Outside of the bully world, my wife and I also own our own custom t-shirt and decal business called DC Prints, where we sell on Amazon. When we find a little bit of downtime we like to spend as much time as we can outside hiking, biking, going to the lake etc.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
Bully Girl Magazine is doing a great job with educating our community on the bully breed! Keep up the good work we appreciate you!
