Let the Bully Girl Magazine readers know who you are and where your kennel is located?

My name is Raul Gonzalez a.k.a Charlie Wax and I am the founder of Charlie wax’s Monster Factory, located in Boston, Massachusetts.

What type of dogs do you breed?

I breed Extreme, Standard, and XL size American Bullies.

How long have you been working with these dogs, and what inspired you to begin working with this breed?

I’ve owned American Pitbull Terriers since childhood, but have only owned the bully breed since 2009, which was right about when my contract expired with the Service. It was an honor being able to serve this great country.  I was awarded the purple heart medal in 2005, and I am extremely blessed to have made it back alive. I was actually in search of some top of the line Pitbull Terriers, when I came across the bully breed. I fell in love with their look so I decided to get my hands on some top shelf quality bullies. After years with the dogs I had purchased, my love for the bully breed became inseperable. Their loyalty and personalities just had a great impact on my life.

This breed created a vital balance in my life. They are truly wonderful creatures and the public should salute them for what they are amazing dogs that they are.

What are your dogs registered under?

All my dogs are registered with the ABKC and UKC.

Do you currently show your dogs?

I do, but not frequently. I’m going to try and make it to a few shows that are coming up soon. Stay tuned with my kennel because if you get a chance to see any of my dogs in person, it will be worth it, trust me.

What seperates Charlie Wax’s Monster Factory from the competition?

In the bully community you have thousands of people breeding these dogs. Everyone has their own reason and vision, and I consider myself part of that.

I can tell you this. Here at the Monster Factory we do not follow trends. I have a strict standard that I go by. As for the competition, I support all these kennels doing positive things with this amazing breed and I hope I have their’s as well.

Who are some people you look up to that helped you get started with this breed?

I definetly want to thank Jonathan Santos from New England Gottiline Kennels. A very humble person for what he’s accomplished in this bully breed. He produced my main Stud Titus out of the one and only Massachusetts Legend OG Capone. I also want to thank Luis Colon from BroadMountain Bullys, who is another great person in the bully community. They both have gone out of their way to set me up with the right tools, and I will never forget that.

Where would you like to see the Bully Monster Factory 10 years from now?

A whole decade huh?  I see myself and the factory way out in the sticks, for starters. I still see the Factory keeping our stock exclusive. I can definetly see a few colaborations with other kennels. Eventually I want to generate my own bloodline, and have my kids take over the kennels.

What are some of the stereotypes surrounding your dogs?

Well, before I get into that I want to make it clear that as a bully community, we have to point the finger at bad dog owners and the media. The media loves to terrorize the public with this breed, so its not the people’s fault. That’s why you need to educate them. When you’re out in the public try to be polite and patient. Some will open their hearts and minds and the others, others won’t. You can’t please everybody. As for this breed’s stereotypes, the public thinks these dogs are so bad and that they will turn on their own owners. They say these dogs can snap at any given moment, which is completely untruthful and ignorant. I put my word on that as a U.S Infantryman Combat Veteran. These dogs are family dogs, show dogs and working dogs, that’s it! I would never put out a dog that would harm a person or animal. I love this country that’s why I went to war for it.

What characteristics do you look for in two dogs before you breed them?

Like I mentioned earlier, I have a strict standard that I go by when breeding these dogs. I first look for a sound temperament. Then comes high drive and the list goes on. That’s my little secret. I do go thru the basics, correct bite, top skull, straight front, correct rear, short back and so on. An overall correct structure is what I look for. Then comes research: research the pedigrees, research productions and research other breeders mistakes. That’s the ticket right there.

Do you have any dogs currently for sale or any litters on the ground?

I have a litter dropping in July with my foundation Razors Edge bitch “Selena”, a Makaveli Pits Intimidator grandaughter, bred to “Phat Boy” from New England Gottiline. “Phat Boy” is a dog that has Jonathan Santos entire yard in his pedigree. This is an inhouse breeding, but I’m going to let a few out to the public.  These pups will be monsters for sure, extreme standard, big heads, short muzzle, short back, straight fronts, and strong rear with lots of drive. They will be ready for good homes.

What code do you live by?

In this world there is always going to be struggle. We all have our own struggle, but if you persevere you will get where you need to be. You will grow and nothing can take that away from you. However, a bitter heart will destroy you.

What do you think of bully girl magazine?

First off, I really appreciate all the support they give to the bully community. It’s a very big deal. I also want to give a special thanks to LeVar, and his crew for making this happen. His company is very professional and honest in this community. They are one of the leading bully breed dog magazines, and if you get a chance to work with them you will definetly not regret it. Subscribe to the magazine, and you’ll be able to stay in tune with what’s new and good in the bully world.

God bless you America, -Charlie wax, out.
