State your name, and where your kennel is located.
We are Kahler’s 1st Bully Kennels. Our names are Gary & Shirley Kahler, and we are located in Gloucester, VA.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
We breed the American Bully. What inspired us in this particular breed is their loyalty and temperament. Their beautiful appearance gets noticed by all dog lovers.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
Our Bullies diet consists of Grain Free & High Protein Blue Buffalo Wilderness, and Merrick Kibble. We also gave them Sure Grow 100 Vitamins everyday.
Do you have any upcoming breedings that you would like our readers to know about?
We don’t have any upcoming breedings, Our boy Diezel is just now getting put out on the studding market. We do have plans to add some new additions to our family for future breedings.
What is your favorite bloodline?
Our favorite bloodlines would have to be Razor Edge, Roc & Ruby, and Gottiline. Their combo together is explosive.
Do you currently show, any of your bullies?
We just started out showing DIEZEL “THE MACK” KAHLER. The last ABKC show in VA got canceled, but keep an eye out for him. He will be at the next ABKC show.
What advice do you have for any upcoming Bully Breeders?
Our advice to all up coming bully breeders is put time in to learning everything you can about the Bully Breed, and do a lot of homework. Commit yourself to the breed and get advice from other bully breeders. Thank you for all the advice, Steven Pryor, and Desmond Thornton.
What is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
To us the most difficult thing to over come in the bully game is the haters!
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
We think this could be over come if all bully breeders and lovers remember that we are all in it for the love of these dogs. That makes us family, and we should come together to help one another.
Who do you look up to in the bully game?
We look up to a couple of people in the bully game. They are Steven Pryor of Pryorboys Kennels, and Desmond Thornton of One Stop Bullies. They bred their boy KIMBO, to our female that produced our boy Diezel. Both Steven and Desmond have took time to answer any questions. They have taught me about the breed. I am very grateful to them both for taking their time to mentor me, and keeping it 100 with me all the time.
Describe how you would want things, in the Bully Commuity, to be 10 years from now.
Ten years from now I hope to see the Bully Community come together for the love of the bully breed. DON’T HATE JUST APPRECAITE! Give respect and you earn respect.
What separates your kennel from the competition?
What will separate us from the others, will be the love and support we give others in the breed, and staying true to what we believe in. That is honesty and respecting others vision.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
Other then our dogs, we love cooking and spending time with the family.
What motto do you live by?
Our motto is “Family First”, and “Mean what you say and say what you mean!”
